Deirdre
Watley joined the University Hospital family in the Spring
of 2003. Bringing with her a wealth of experience in volunteer
services management, she has worked for several Manhattan
based, non-profit, organizations including the Crohn’s
& Colitis Foundation, the Community Service Society,
the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and Bellevue
Hospital. A native of New York, Ms. Watley is thrilled
to be at University Hospital. “From the moment I
started at University Hospital, I felt a special atmosphere
that I never experienced in any of my other jobs. The
enthusiasm and warm support by the staff has inspired
me to implement my goals for a proactive, intergenerational
volunteer department as quickly as possible. Although
I’m here just a short time, I’m already so
proud of the volunteers. They are very giving and compassionate
individuals who truly understand the difference just one
person can make in the lives of so many. It’s an
honor to be working with them.” Ms Watley holds
a BA in Psychology from New School University in New York
and Associate Degree in Applied Sciences from Kingsborough
Community College.
