John R. Bach, MD, Professor of Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation, Vice-Chairman of the Department of
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Professor of Neurosciences,
Director of Research and Associate Medical Director of
the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation,
Co-Director of the MDA Clinic at University Hospital,
and Medical Director of the Center for Noninvasive Mechanical
Ventilation Alternatives and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Dr. Bach is internationally recognized for his ground-breaking
work in noninvasive mechanical ventilation. He has
been listed in several physician-selected consumer guides
to outstanding physicians, including the "Best
Doctors in America" by Castle, Connelly and New
York Magazine's "Best Doctors in New York".
The author of over 250 publications, including seven
books on neuromuscular pulmonary rehabilitation and
noninvasive mechanical ventilation, Dr. Bach has been
invited to lecture on these topics in over 30 countries.
Dr. Bach is a fellow of the Association of Academic
Physiatrists, the America College of Chest Physicians,
and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
He received his medical degree from the College of Medicine
and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1976 and completed his
residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
at New York University.
