The division provides primary and general medical care for persons ages 16 and over on a consultative or on-going basis. The staff specializes in the diagnosis and management of complex internal medical disorders, including acute and chronic multisystem diseases. Treatment planning, coordination, and follow-up are provided by the division when specialty and subspecialty involvement is required. Special emphasis is placed on prevention and health maintenance for adults.The practice also offers primary care, consultative and preventive care for the elderly with emphasis on functional assessments and psychosocial support.A community-based practice dedicated to culturally appropriate care for the greater Newark Hispanic population is maintained by the division. The FOCUS Community Health Center, located at 449 Broad Street in Newark, offers a complete range of adult primary care services as well as several sub-specialty programs in the comfort of a modern, spacious private practice environment.
