The Section of Surgical Oncology is engaged in the treatment of tumors of the breast, thyroid, colon/rectum, pancreas, liver, melanoma, and sarcomas. It works in close cooperation with the divisions of Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology and participates in the intraoperative surgical treatment of advanced tumors, including intraoperative hyperthermic peritoneal perfusion (IHPP) to treat advanced abdominal cancers. In addition, the Section offers a variety of regional therapies for hepatic tumors, including resection, radiofrequency ablation, embolization, alcohol injection and hepatic artery infusion thereapy.
