The Section of Palliative Care focuses on the special needs of critically ill and terminally ill patients and their families. Palliative care is offered in the form of guidance to families through shared decision-making, pain and symptom management and on-going family support. It is offered throughout the hospital, but is focused in the ICU setting. The section provides up-front, intensive bereavement support and help making important decisions quickly.
