The Division has faculty specializing in the entire field of digestive disease surgery, including surgery of the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, stomach, colon, and rectum. Diagnostic and surgical expertise is also available in breast cancer, including the most accurate and minimally invasive biopsy techniques. Hernia repair, thyroid surgery and surgery of the endocrine glands are additional areas of interest. A unique area of competence is the medical and surgical therapy of chronic and acute wounds, including burns and soft tissue infections. The staff is proficient in the latest techniques of laser surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and laparoscopic techniques. The Division also offers expertise in the area of bloodless surgery and medicine. Patients requiring re-operative or complex surgery are particularly welcomed for referral.
