Heart Saver AED (Classroom)

The Heartsaver CPR with AED and First Aid Course certifies participants on how to manage; cardiac/respiratory arrest in adults, children, and infants, how to relieve choking, and certifies students in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The first aid course certifies students on how to hadnle illnesses and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes General Principles, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, Environmental Emergencies, bleeding/fracture control, epinephrine pens, etc.

These courses are free of charge for all UH/UMDNJ Newark Campus employees and all UBHC Piscataway Campus employees that are required to be certified for their job. All other University Hospital/UMDNJ non Newark/Piscataway employees will be charged $30.00. All non-UMDNJ employees be charged $65.00 for the CPR and $45.00 for the First Aid (or $100.00 for both). Anyone unable to attend the class once they have been scheduled should call to cancel or reschedule 24 hours prior to the class, failure to do so will result in a $30.00 administrative fee. This course is offered by The University Hospital Training Center, an authorized provider of AHA CPR courses. Fees charged do not represent revenue to the AHA or its affiliates.
