The PALS course objective is to aid the student in the synthesis of new and prior knowledge/skills toward the safe care of the pre-arrest and arrest patients. Written and practical assessments are made. An AHA PALS card will be awarded to each successful participant.

** Note: only Newark, UMDNJ Incoming Residents can register for this 2 day course.

It is required that your AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION BLS Health Care Provider certification be current to register for this course.

These PALS Provider courses are offered on various days throughout the month

Course fee is $275.00 which includes the manual and course
completion card with an expiration date of (2) years. Any registrant who
is employed full-time by The University Hospital, and the certification is NOT required for his/her job,will be charged $175.00. Any "No-Shows" that fail to provide us with at least 48 hourse notice of cancellation will be charged an $80.00 administration fee


This course is offered by The University Hospital Training Center in cooperation with the American Heart Association. Fees charged do not represent revenue to the AHA or its affiliates.

It is required that both AHA PALS and BLS Health Care Provider certifications be current to register for this course.

With Books (books are REQUIRED for the course)

$200.00 for non-employees of The University Hospital. Any registrant who is employed full-time at The University Hospital, and the course is NOT required of your job, will be charged $175.00. Nurses, Residents, and Fellows are not required to pay a tuition fee. Any "No-Shows" will be charged a $80.00 administration fee. Without Books (books are REQUIRED for the course)

If a student registers for the course, and already has the course material from another course, or purchased the books at another location, the fee will be $160.00 for non-employees of The University Hospital. Any registrant who is employed full-time at The University Hospital, and the course is NOT required of your job, will be charged $135.00

If you have the course material, it MUST be brought to the classroom the FIRST day of the course and it must be the most recent published version from the AHA (2010 ECC Standards), 2005 AHA ECC books are NOT valid. Students whom fail to bring the books with them can purchase the material through the CTC the day of the course or they will be ineligible for the course.
